Integrating Proficiency Assessment with Reverse Design Pedagogy in the language classroom

The Language Studies section in the Humanities Division at Yale-NUS, in collaboration with the Centre for Teaching and Learning and the NUS Centre for Language Studies, is glad to invite you to a 2-day workshop on Integrating Language Proficiency Assessment with Reverse Design Pedagogy. This workshop will be conducted by Dr. Cathy Baumann, Director of the Language Center at the University of Chicago and faculty member in the Germanic Studies Department. This hands-on workshop will cover topics such as the ACTFL oral, writing, reading, and listening proficiency guidelines and the Common European Framework for Reference. It will also address the reverse design model in the language context and discuss assessment challenges and the role of technologies such as Google Translate.
